Baked Italian sausages with onions, peppers, Yukon potatoes and tomato sauce — pile into crusty bread or eat as is.
"Yeah baby! Now that’s what we’re talking about — sausage, peppers, and potatoes piled high on crusty Italian bread!" - Alexia
Brown the sausage links in a fry pan until lightly seared on all sides. Do not fully cook. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Wash and slice the peppers and onions lengthwise, and cut the potatoes into 1/4-inch circles. Add them into a Pyrex baking dish.
Scatter the vegetables evenly in the dish. Season with garlic powder, garlic salt, and cracked black pepper to taste. Pour in the Hunts tomato sauce and drizzle with olive oil. Slice the browned sausage into 1 1/2-inch pieces and add them into the dish, mixing everything together.
Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated 375°F oven for about 1 1/2 hours. Remove the foil, mix well, and bake for another 10 minutes.
Finally, broil for a few minutes until the top is browned. Serve as is or scoop into crusty Italian bread for a sandwich.
